Example DDQ response
A specimen DDQ response for a fictional fund manager, showing the source behind every answer and what happens to the questions the documents cannot answer.
Written for fund COOs, investor relations and operations teams.
What you will take away
- 01
Twelve questions across ownership, investment process, compliance, AML/CTF, service providers, information security and ESG.
- 02
Every answer shows the policy and section it came from, and whether an approved answer was reused or the answer was drafted from source.
- 03
Two questions are flagged instead of answered, because the documents do not contain the answer: a breach history and a carbon intensity figure.
- 04
It illustrates the approach BackPro’s DDQ drafting was tested on in March 2026. A person reviews every answer before anything is sent.

Questions it answers
- What happens when the documents cannot answer a question?
- The question is flagged for a person to answer instead of being guessed. In the specimen, two questions are flagged this way: a breach history and a carbon intensity figure that no document in the library contains.
- Is this a real firm’s DDQ response?
- No. The fund manager, fund, service providers, policies, dates and figures are fictional. It is a specimen prepared by BackPro to illustrate a draft DDQ response.
